Hi Ginger --
Following is what Kevin's dad e-mailed to me this morning. Thanks so much
for all your help. Kevin is a pretty remarkable kid. His older brother
Jared is an Eagle Scout, so it's a pretty remarkable family.

Kevin Gustafson
Born: March 18th 1982 in Long Beach, CA
Moved to seal Beach with parents Bruce and Deborah and brother Jared, in June
of 1990
Attended Hopkinson Elementary, McAuliff Middle School. and is now a Senior at
Los Alamitos High School.
He was a faithful member of the All American Boys Chorus for 6 years. Rising
through the ranks from audition to training to performing/touring chorus,
performing through out the U.S and Canada. He became a part leader and held
that position for 1 year before graduating in June of 1997.
Kevin began flying at 11 years of age in June of 1993 with his current flight
instructor Lynn Krogh of Seal Beach. It was through the generosity and
passion for aviation of Mr. Lynn Krogh that at age 14, Kevin soloed in a
glider. On his 16th birthday he soloed a powered aircraft, becoming the
youngest pilot in America. He earned his private pilots license in a glider
shortly after that. On his 17th birthday Kevin received his Private Pilots
License for powered aircraft and made-his parents his first passengers.
In August of this year, Kevin set out on a solo flight from Long Beach,
California, across the country, to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, the birth
place of aviation, and back. This flight was undertaken to raise money for
the program that sparked his love for aviation, "The Young Eagles". En route
Kevin took up young people on Young Eagle Flights to introduce them to the
world of aviation. His journey took him to 34 cities and 25 states, landing
safely back at Long Beach Airport 14 days later. Kevin raised over$4,000
dollars for the Young Eagles Program.
This is Kevin's Senior year in High School. He has been elected President of
the Student Council for the choir program at Los Alamitos High School. He
has taken classes at Long Beach City College since he was 15 and is still
currently enrolled.
Kevin hopes to continue in aviation and become a commercial airline pilot for
a major carrier and continue with his love, aviation.
