Badum, Director of Public Works/City Engineer Subject: ANNUAL PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROGRAM FY 1999-2000, PROJECT NO. 673 GENERAL DESCRIPTION The proposed City Council action will approve the plans and specifications, and authorize Staff to initiate the bidding process so that a contract may be awarded on September 13, 1999 for the rehabilitation of Stanford Lane, Camelia Street, Banyan Avenue, and Columbine Street DISCUSSION: The proposed project will repair various sections of roadway pavement and place a rubberized asphalt overlay on Stanford Lane, Camelia Street, Banyan Avenue, and Columbine Street. The plans and specifications were completed by W.G. Zimmerman Engineering. Upon the successful bidding process and award of a contract, the project will be completed in October. This project has been fast-tracked in order to complete the work before the next winter storm season. FISCAL IMPACT: Based upon the recently completed project on Harvard Lane, the estimated cost to construct this project is $180,000 ($100,000 Stanford, $80,000 Camelia/Banyan/ Columbine). General funds in the amount of$83,500 and the balance of Gas Tax/ Measure M funds from the 1998-99 pavement rehabilitation program, $45,000, for a total of$128,500 are currently available within the City's 1999/2000 Capital Improvement program budget. Unless additional funds can be appropriated, it is anticipated that the project scope will need to be reduced to meet available funding at the time of award. 1 AGENDA ITEM/ .
