Outdoor Programs Year -in -Review
School Field Trips
These trips were provided at no cost to each school and were hosted at the Zedler Marsh
outdoor education area in Los Cerritos Wetlands.
Long Beach Unified School District- 17 classroom field trips were provided for students
attending Title 1 elementary schools in North, West and Downtown Long Beach.
650 students and their teachers served
Santa Ana Unified School District- 6 classroom field trips were provided for students at Heroes
Elementary in Santa Ana.
230 students and their teachers served
Summer Field Trips
These trips were provided at no cost to participants and were hosted on Orange County parcels
of Los Cerritos Wetlands. Trips were attended by inner-city youths and their families as part of
the Be S.A.F.E. program provided by Long Beach Parks. Recreation & Marine Administration.

280 residents served
Monthly Nature Walks
These walks are hosted free of charge for all interested members of the general public and local
community. Nature walk topics include marine birds, raptors, and sea turtles, each with their
own dedicated land tour.
