Importance:High
By keeping our pier and parking lots closed, there will be no room for out of town people to park therefore they
will not flock here.
Take Huntington Beach and Newport Beach for example. They never closed their beaches, but kept their parking
and pier closed. Social distancing has not been an issue there and they are both much larger attractions then
Seal Beach. Yes it was crowded but the crowds were managed. I am attaching photos from last weekend when I
was there. The media uses stock photos and if they are recent images the way the shoot them and lenses they
use obscure the photos greatly.
Given how many people are out of work and not at school, there has been a substantial increase in how many
people are outside walking and getting fresh air. By not having the beaches available, the only areas we are able
to be on have become crowded and not able to safely social distance on.
If our beaches are opened, we don’t need to announce it, just simply take down the signs or just post in the
locals only facebook page.
Why not open the beaches for just the weekdays to start as a trial?
We are trusted to social distance everywhere else why not the sand?
With the increase in temperatures, more people are going to want to be outside.
Fresh air and sunlight are ESSENTIAL for our immune systems and mental health
Florida has opened all of their beaches and people are still social distancing
It is no more dangerous to be at a grocery store or getting food to go where workers are touching your food,
then it is to be outside in a wide open area, social distancing.
It is essential for so many reasons to open our beaches. The residents of Seal Beach NEED this space to be outside during
these hard and trying times. Please please please consider.
Here is the Petition…..The people of Seal Beach are speaking….and they want the beach open. Link is below:

Huntington Beach Fire Dept applauding people for social distancing at the beach all weekend…I attached the screen shot
of their face book page.
The city of Seal Beach has done a phenomenal job at staying inside and following the orders. But enough is enough.
People need to be outside at the beach, this is WHY we live here. It is essential for our wellbeing. If someone doesn’t
want the beach open, they should have the freedom to not go. But we deserve the freedom to choose.
