Thank you, Jill Jill R. She has written before about this issue. At the bottom of the email, she told me that there are a couple of houses on Bartlett Street in Garden Grove that usually have illegal types of fireworks on July 4th (This is across the drainage canal from Wisteria in CPE). I am not sure if these are illegal in Garden Grove. This resident lives on Dogwood, near Wisteria. ________________________________________ From: ddelaterre@aol.com [ddelaterre@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, July 01, 2020 11:26 AM To: Schelly Sustarsic Subject: Lack of Social Distancing and mask wearing in Seal Beach Hi Schelly, First of all I want to sincerely thank you for all you do as Mayor of Seal Beach. It is a very tough job, especially now.. 2 I live in CPE and went to downtown Seal Beach at about 9AM this past Saturday, June 27, to pick up a couple of muffins from Javatinas. I drove along Ocean Blvd to turn right at Main Street. and noticed a crowd of people with their bikes on the sidewalk in front of El Burrito and Bogarts. There was no social distancing at all. One could not walk down the sidewalk without literally bumping into people. Also most did not wear masks. There was also a group motorcycle riders parked there. No masks there either. I then turned right onto Main Street. Lots of people walking around again little social distancing and many without masks. I got to Javatinas and it was a bit better. However many people that sit on the benches on main street in front of Javatinas, the pizza store, and others along that block of main street do not wear masks. If they are eating that is one thing. But most are not eating. They are just sitting there talking. That being the case they should wear masks. This has to be hurting businesses. There are many people, who normally shop and make purchases in downtown Seal Beach that will stay away because of this. This is not healthy for anyone and there needs to be some semblance of enforcement. I know this is extremely difficult. However if businesses need to shut down again due to the stupidity of some, many businesses will not reopen again. Also please consider closing the parks and beach for the 4th of July weekend for the health and safety of all. One more item, I am very concerned about the fire works allowed in Garden Grove. Especially on Bartlett Street in Garden Park. Bartlett is the street that runs parallel to the river bed on the other side from Wisteria. Annually there are a couple of houses that appear to regularly have illegal types of fireworks. Maybe the City of Garden Grove would listen to you regarding this matter. I love our beautiful City of Seal Beach and feel so blessed to be able to live here. Again thank you for all that you do for us. Respectfully, Diane Delaterre 4849 Dogwood Ave. Seal Beach , CA ddelaterre@aol.com ________________________________ CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization.
