Unemployment payment for 2nd quarter (April-June). The State paid for over $11K using CARES Act funds and this is the remaining balance. The City also used the CARES Act funds to pay the remaining balance of $12,413.00. Check # 17012 K2 Demolition Co Inc $ 10,000.00 C & D Deposit What is this for? Refund for construction/ demolition deposit. Item H. Will this be a new contract or an extension of the contract with HF & H? Staff will amend tonight's recommendation to amend the scope of work with HF&H and in order to be less confusing and more transparent, will instead bring back an updated PSA and Scope of Work for Council's consideration to deal with 1826. Tonight, staff will focus on 1594 only. In the original contract, HF & H has a Scope of Work that includes AB 1826 and SB 1383. That is correct; however, CalRecycle - the state agency that oversees solid waste and recycling - has informed the City that we must implement 1826 more immediately or face a violation. Originally, staff had hoped to fold 1826 into the new solid waste agreement through negotiations but doing so would drastically delay implementation of 1826 and put the City at risk for a penalty by CalRecycle. Will AB 1594 be included in the new Scope of Work? If staff's recommendation were to be approved by Council tonight, we would be in compliance with this state mandate and it would not need to be inserted in the new Scope of Work which will be presented to Council at the October 12th Council meeting. What are the criteria for a discount rate for Senior Citizens? Per the solid waste agreement, Section IV, 4.2.1 - "Residential Householders that are both Senior Citizens and heads of lower income households, and who are so certified by the City, shall be granted a 15% discount off residential rates. For purposes of this Section 4.2.1, "senior citizens" means heads of households that are 65 years of age or older, and "lower income households" means persons and families whose household income does not exceed the qualifying limits for lower income families as established and amended from time to time pursuant to Section 8 of the United States Housing Act of 1937."
