City Council Meeting. Here is some additional information. As I said earlier, this renewal program required everyone applying for a permit to go online and start from scratch to set up a new account.. Why is this necessary since the City Finance Department made up a data base during the past two years of all the necessary information. If there were no changes in your residence location or auto information all you needed to do was to pay the required fees. I understand this renewal program has been transferred to the police department. Can't they just download all this information into their system. Additionally, the visitor permit program has changed to something very difficult for the residents (virtual proces). We would have to log into the police website for any and all visitors to our residences giving out personal information. This would include family members, personal friends, workers like plumbers, electricians, house keepers, guardners and etc., For one thing, this is an invasion of privacy and I have been told by an attorney that it may be unconstitutional. How would people that don't use a computer or have a cell telephone handle this (especially the older folks). This is just too much to ask for. I suggest the City Council members think this over carefully. There just has to be an easier solution to this process. Thank you.
