STATE OF PARKING IN SEAL BEACH
Transition to a New Online Permit Portal
Current residential and guest permits have been extended to expired
on January 31, 2021 in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic
New online permit portal available on December 17, 2020
•Permit holders must create a new account, enter vehicle information,
upload supporting documentation, and submit payment
Permit types available on new online permit portal include:
•Residential, guest, beach (senior, resident, and non-resident), merchant,
and contractor permits

Anticipated “how-to” steps for permit set-up:
•Select requested permit type (residential or guest)
•Enter permit holder information
•First name, last name, and email address
•Select residential address from drop-down menu
•Add vehicle(s) information
•RO first and last name, license plate number, state, year, make, model, and color
•**Can opt for real-time DMV online vehicle verification
•Upload required documentation
•**Can opt for real-time DMV online verification
•Acknowledge and accept City’s regulations and restrictions
City will provide an instructional video explaining how to use the new permit system in mid-
December

Residential and guest permits will be valid from February 1, 2021
through October 31, 2021
Residential and guest permits will remain the same cost
•$20 per residential permit
•$30 per guest permit
Guest permits will be virtual beginning February 1, 2021
•Permit holders will manage their guest permits online

Outreach regarding the new permit process so far:

•Website update
•Direct email to all residential and guest permit holders
Other outreach options include:
•Seal Beach Sun Newspaper posting
•Online training video
•Social media
Coastal Commission Application
Preparing background information for Coastal Development Permit
Currently conducting a comparable rates analysis of regional beach
paid parking and permit rates
Analyzing LPR parking occupancy data
Rossmoor Center Condos – Potential Permit Pilot
Condos located at the corner of Rossmoor Center Way and Montecito Road have
limited parking available
Update:
•Farmers & Merchants Bank (12535 Seal Beach Boulevard)
•Potential shared parking agreement that could include 5 overnight parking spaces
