Please note it is difficult to compare Seal Beach as the other two cities and college have several lots with very different flows of traffic for parking. Please refer to the below listed measures taken by each department. *(CVC - California Vehicle Code) The City of Huntington Beach: Vehicles must park in the same direction of traffic for vehicles along Pacific Coast Hwy (CVC 21651b) Vehicles parked in the meter stalls (related to dog beach access) need to park head in as it one-way traffic (CVC 21651b) • CVC 22106 - Unsafe backing. Any vehicle that parked in violation of the vehicle code is also subject to citation. City of Long Beach: • CVC 22106 - Unsafe backing. It is the opinion of the parking officer at the time of violation. • Due to the various parking locations and one-way roadways, they use CVC 21651 as it relates to one- way roadway and angled stalls. • No backing into stalls as posted by signs in the parking lots (CVC 21461 or Muni Code for violation of posted city sign) California State University Long Beach has the following regulations: No backing into angled stalls No backing into stalls inside the parking structure (CVC 22106- Unsafe Backing) CVC 21113 as it allows them to place specific signs on the University grounds (parking lots) that drivers mut obey. Also gives them the ability to enforce any violations of those signs. Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist with. Have a great weekend. Thank you, Jill Jill R. Does Huntington Beach and Long Beach enforce front-end only laws in their beach parking lots for spaces that are not slanted / one way only lanes? Could you provide the codes? For the Cities mentioned in the Staff Report, are these cities enforcing front-end parking for slant spaces /one way lanes only? Could we see the codes for these cities? I see no mention of CSULB enforcing front-end parking for non -slanted parking spots. Could you point me where this is? Thank you, -Tom
