million, which represents 50% of the amount allocated to the City of Seal Beach. The
second half is expected to be distributed to the City in July 2022. ARPA provides
funding to state and local governments directly for relief for responding to COVID-19.
The U.S. Department of Treasury is still issuing guidance on how these funds can be
used, so the funds have not been programmed for anything specific as of yet; however,
the funds have been set aside in a separate fund. More information is expected in the
coming weeks and Finance Director Kelly Telford will plan to give an update on these
funds as well as others in a COVID-19 Funding Update Presentation at the August 9,
2021 Council meeting.
