Re: Minor Use Permit 21-2 Request 84B Surfside Colony
Ms. Gloria Harper,
I would like to call attention to the Notice of Public Hearing for the Planning Commission on
September 7, 2021 at 7:OOpm. I am alarmed that the map of the Subject Location: 84B Surfside
Avenue, that appears on the reverse side of this Notice, is totally incorrect and invalid. None of
the addresses are labeled correctly, including 84B, the owners of which are seeking an
exception to the 35 -foot height regulation. These errors would nullify action and decisions
made at the Public Hearing regarding these mismarked properties.
In addition, I find it incomprehensible that this Proposed Roof Access Structure be allowed to
exceed the maximum roof height by four and a half feet. Our close-knit community has abided
by these regulations since my family moved here in the 1960s. Owners who have disregarded
these regulations have had to rebuild or restructure. Views from these properties are primary
in establishing everything from property values to good neighbor relations.
Please inform the Planning Commission and urge them to reject the request for a Minor Use
Permit 21-2 for 84B Surfside Avenue. I have spoken with my neighbors Don and Nancy
Waldron, 84A Surfside Avenue who are also in agreement.
