HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 7218 2021-12-13RESOLUTION 7218 A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL REQUESTING THE CALIFORNIA CITIZENS REDISTRICTING COMMISSION INCLUDE THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH IN THE SAME CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT AS HUNTINGTON BEACH AND NEWPORT BEACH WHEREAS The California Citizens Redistricting Commission (Commission) is in the process of redrawing the boundaries of certain electoral districts, including congressional districts; and, WHEREAS The cities of Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, and Newport Beach share common interests, concerns, and challenges due to being coastal communities within Orange County and would benefit from remaining in the same congressional district. THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: Section 1. The Council does hereby request the Commission to include the cities of Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, and Newport Beach within the same congressional district.
