A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL
APPROVING THE RE-INSTITUTION OF ENFORCEMENT OF THE HEAD-IN
PARKING ORDINANCE
WHEREAS The City Council recognizes that enforcement of parking
ordinances requires a balanced approach that weighs the need for public safety
and the need for vehicle parking to be available to the residents and visitors of
Seal Beach,
WHEREAS The City of Seal Beach has a parking ordinance that prohibits
backing vehicles into parking spaces in parking lots, and enhances safety by
requiring drivers to park uniformly and drive in a consistent direction when parking
in the beach parking lots,
WHEREAS the City Council previously suspended enforcement of the
head-in parking ordinance to provide time for the Police Department to educate
drivers, study enforcement issues, and erect new signage in City parking lots.
WHEREAS The City Council hereby approves of the active enforcement of
the existing parking ordinance related to head in parking in a balanced and
judicious manner.
THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
