The City has previously gone on record in support of the removal actions taken for these sites, as those removal actions reduced potential adverse impacts to the residents of the City of Seal Beach and to employees of the Weapons Support Facility. The City of Seal Beach extends its sincere appreciation to the Weapons Support Facility and the Department of the Navy in undertaking these activities in a manner that provided the highest level of protection to the children attending McGaugh School. The scheduling of soil removal activities during the summer vacation time period was greatly appreciated. Throughout the review of the many documents prepared to reach this point (from 1995 to the present), the level of cooperation and understanding of the Department of Navy and its contractors to the expressed concerns of the City of Seal Beach has been greatly appreciated. On behalf of the City Council, Environmental Quality Control Board, city staff, and the citizens of Seal Beach we congratulate the Navy on the successful completion of a well done environmental enhancement program to these areas within our community.
