Home My WebLink AboutCC Res 3155 1982-05-18 I I I RESOLUTION NUMBER 315~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACTS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH ON THE 11TH DAY OF MAY, 1982, DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF, AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. WHEREAS, A General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Seal Beach, County of Orange, State of California, on Tuesday, the 11th day of May, 1982, as required by Ordinance Number 1115 of the City of Seal Beach, California; and Notice of said election was duly and regularly given in time, form, and manner as provided by law; that voting precincts were properly established; that election officers were appointed; and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat, received and canvassed, and the returns made and declared in time, form, and manner as required by the provisions of the E1ections Code of the State of California for the holding of elections in general law and charter cities; and WHEREAS, WHEREAS, Pursuant to Resolution Number 3144, adopted the 6th day of April, 1982, the City Clerk of the City of Seal Beach canvassed the returns of said election and has certified the results to this City Council, said results are received, attached, and made a part hereof as "Exhibit A." NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That there were three (3) voting precincts established for the purpose of holding said election consisting of consolidations of the regular election precincts in the City of Seal Beach, California, as established for the holding of State and County elections. Section 2. That said General Municipal Election was held for the purpose of electing the following officer of said City as required by the Charter of the City of Seal Beach and general laws of the State of California, to wit: One member of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years from Councilmanic District One. Section 3. That the whole number of votes cast in said City, except absent voter ballots, was 1012. That the whole number of absent voter ballots cast in said City was 44 making a total of 1056 votes cast in the City. Section 4. That the names of the persons voted for at said election for member of the City Council in Councilmanic District One are as follows: Victor S. Grgas James G. Funk That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the City to each of such persons above named for the respective office for which said persons were candidates are as shown in Exhibit "B" attached hereto and made a part hereof. I Resolution Number~;I~ Section 5. The City Council does declare and determine that Victor S. Grgas is elected as a member of the City Council of the City of Seal Beach from Councilmanic District One, for the full term of four years. Section 6. The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council of said City, a statement of the result of said election, showing: The whole number of votes cast in the City; The names of the persons voted for; For what office each person was voted for; The number of votes given at each precinct to each person; The number of votes given in the City to each person. Section 7. That pursuant to the City Charter, on the seventh day following the General Municipal Election at the hour set for holding regular meetings, the City Council shall meet and declare the results of the canvass of said election returns, the City Clerk shall make and deliver to each of such persons so elected, a Certificate of Election signed by the City Clerk and duly authenticated; that the City Clerk shall also administer to each person elected, the Oath of Office prescribed in the State Constitution of the State of California and shall have them subscribe thereto and file the same in the office of the City Clerk. Whereupon, each and all of said persons so elected shall be inducted into the respective office to which they have been elected. (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) I Section 8. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
