SUBJECT: PROCLAMATION HONORING GEORGE E. BROWN
SUMMARY OF REOUEST
Recognize George E. Brown' for his service and retirement from public office with a
Proclamation to be presented at the November 15th Coast Community College District board
meeting.
BACKGROUND
George Brown was a former Mayor and Councilman for the City of Seal Beach. He was first
elected to serve Council District Two in 1992. He resigned in December of 1998 when he was
elected to the Board of Trustees for Coast Community College District.

Honoring George E. Brown
WHEREAS George E. Brown served with great
commitment to the community as Mayor and City
Councilman for the City of Seal Beach; and,
WHEREAS George E. Brown demonstrated his
dedication and concern for the needs of Orange
County's older adults by serving as a volunteer to the
Orange County Area Agency on Aging Senior Citizens
Advisory Council and as a member of the California
Senior Legislature; and,
e
WHEREAS George E. Brown achieved excellence in the
business world as a Certified Public Accountant,
Travel Industry Entrepreneur, and a Financial
Manager for leading Southern California corporations;
NOW THEREFORE, LET IT BE PROCLAIMED that
the City of Seal Beach does hereby honor and
recognize
Mr. George E. Brown
for his contribution and dedication to the community
and extending the City's congratulations and best
wishes on his retirement from public office.
