Coast Highway. BACKGROUND: At the request of Councilman Antos staff has verified that the "Master Plan of Arterial Highways" ("MPAH") for the County, prepared by the Orange County Transportation Authority, continues to indicate a future extension of Edinger Avenue from its current western terminus, ext""ding across Anaheim Bay, and connecting to Pacific Coast Highway. Staff requests that the City Manager be authorized to send a letter to OCTA requesting it to review the current MPAH and prepare an amendment to eliminate the indicated extension of Edinger Avenue from its current western terminus, extending across Anaheim Bay, and connecting to Pacific Coast Highway. The possibilities of constructing such an extension over open waterways that are utilized for recreational boating, across the Seal Beach National Wildlife Refuge, including an existing nesting area for the federally-protected Least tern, and within the operations area of the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station seem to be so far removed from a possibility of completion as to warrant the deletion of this indicated extension. e Agenda Item A Z:~Y Do""m-lSITtIIuporlaIioD Proj_IMPAH.
