Home My WebLink AboutCC Ord 1238 1987-01-26 ORDINANCE NO. ~~~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH AMENDING THE ZONING REGULATIONS FOR HOTELS AND AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 28-243 of the Code of .the City of hereby amended to read: Article 2, Chapter 28 of Seal Beach, California is I Section 28-243. Hotels. "Hotel" means a building or group of buildings containing six or more guest rooms offering transient lodging accommodations to the general public and incidental services that are customarily provided by a hotel such as food service, recreational facilities, retail services provided for the convenience of hotel guests, and banquet, reception and meeting rooms. The incidental services that may be provided by a hotel shall be limited to the services permitted by the applicable conditional use permit when a conditional use permit is required for a hotel by this Chapter. For the purposes of this Chapter, all transient lodging accommodations defined as a hotel by the Section shall be deemed hotel even though such accommodations may be referred to as a motel, inn or other name by the owner or operator thereof. Section 2. Article 2 of Chapter 28 of the Code of the City of Seal Beach, California is hereby amended by deleting Section 28-261 which defines "Motel". Section 3. paragraph (a) of Subsection (3), Section I 28-899, Article 8, Chapter 28 of the Code of the City of Seal Beach, California is hereby amended to read: (a) Hotels provided that therefor on or lawfully existing on January 1, 1987 a conditional use permit is granted before January 1, 1988. Section 4. Section 28-1499, Article 14, Chapter 28 of the Code of the City of Seal Beach, California is hereby amended to: 1. Remove Motel from remaining sections. number (5) and renumber 2. Add to Section 11, (h) Hotel. Section 5.
