Home My WebLink AboutCC Ord 1158 1983-09-26 ORDINANCE NO. //58 I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH RELATING TO ANIMAL CONTROL FEES AND AMENDING THE SEAL BEACH CITY CODE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES ORDAIN: SECTION 1. Section 3-10.14 of Article III, Chapter 3 of the Seal Beach City Code is amended by amending Section 3-10.14 to read: Sec. 3-10.14. Animal Shelter and Miscellaneous Fees. The animal control officer shall charge, receive and collect the greater of the following fees for impounding animals and miscellaneous services: A. For Animals Impounded at Any Orange County Animal Shelter: -I 1. Impound Fees: a. Large animal (horse, cow, etc.) actual cost or b. Medium animal (pigs, sheep etc.) actual cost or c. Small animal (cat, dog, etc.) actual cost or Minimum $40.00 $30.00 $25.00 Animals impounded more than once in a twelve-month period shall be charged above fee plus fifty percent of prior impounding charge. 2. Placement Fees: Minimum a. Dog b. Cat c. Other animal subject to placement $13.00 $ 8.00 Market value 3. Daily Care and Feed (Minimum of One Day Charge): .1 a. Large animal (horse, cow, etc. ) $ 6.50 b. Medium animal (pig, sheep, etc. ) $ 4.00 c. Dog or cat $ 3.50 d. Other small animal Actual cost Ordinance Number //~~ 4. Veterinary services: a. Vaccination against rabies: b. Relative value unit (for medical services: $5.00 $6.00 (per RVU) I c. Other procedures (X-rays, shots, lab): d. Medical or surgical care, per treatment, performed by private veterinarian, "flat rate: At Cost 20.00 5. Miscellaneous services: a. Euthanasia, upon request of owner 10.00 . . The director may charge the owner or custodian for veter- inary care rendered to impounded animals and such charges shall constitute a lien on said animals. He may approve payment from County funds to practicing veterinarians rendering treatment to impounded animals. B. For Animals Impounded At Any City of Seal Beach Animal Shelter: I. Impound of small animals (cats, dogs, etc): a. Impound Fee b. Daily care and feed (minimum of one day charge) $11.50 I" $3.50 2. Quarantine of small animals (cats, dogs, etc): a. Impound Fee b.
