Home My WebLink AboutCC Ord 1148 1983-08-08 ORDINANCE NUMBER 1/48 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 3, SECTIONS 3-10,7 (a), (b), AND (c) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH RELATING TO ANIMAL LICENSE FEES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Sections 3-10.7 (a), (b), and (c) of the Seal Beach Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 3-10.7(a) - Time Limits, license fees. Any owner, except as provided in subsection (d), of a ~og or cat over the age of four months in the City shall obtain a dog or cat license and pay an original or renewal license fee of fifteen dollars for each unaltered dog and twelve dollars and fifty cents for each unaltered cat on or before October 1st of each year, The license fee for each altered dog shall be seven dollars and fifty cents and the license fee for each altered cat shall be six dollars and twenty-five cents. The owner shall have the burden of proof to show that the dog or cat has been altered, I Sec. 3-10.7(b,- Any owner, except as provided in subsection (d), acquiring a dog or cat over the age of four months after April 1st of each licensing year, and who purchases a license within thirty days of acquisition of the dog or cat, shall pay an original license fee of seven dollars and fifty cents for each unaltered dog and six dollars and fifty cents for each unaltered cat. The license fee for an altered dog after April 1st shall be three dollars and seventy-five cents and the license fee for I an altered cat after April 1st shall be three dollars and twenty-five cents, Sec, 3-10.7(c) - Schedule of Fees. Every license shall expire on October 1st following the purchase of such license. Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of thfs ordinance and shall cause same to be published as required by law.
