" ORDINANCE NUMBER 1t!/9~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 3, SECTIONS 3-10.7 (a), (b), AND (c) OF THE SEAL BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE, ANIMAL LICENSE FEES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Sections 3-10.7(a), (b), and (c) of the Seal Beach Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 3-10.7(a) - Time Limits, license fees. Any owner, with the exception provided in subsection (c), of a dog or cat over the age of four months in the city shall obtain a dog or cat license and pay an original or renewal license fee of twelve dollars and fifty cents on or before October 1st of each year, except that the license fee for an altered dog or cat shall be six dollars and twenty-five cents. The owner has the burden of proof to show that the dog or cat has been altered. Sec. 3-10.7(b) Any owner, with the exception provided in subsection (c), acquiring a dog or cat over the age of four months after April 1st of each licensing year, and who purchases a license within thirty days of acquisition of the dog or cat, shall pay an original license fee of six dollars and fifty cents, except that the license fee for an altered dog or cat shall be three dollars and twenty-five cents. Sec. 3-10.7(c) - Date of license Purchase Oct. 1 - Mar. 31 Apr. 1 - Sept. 30 Schedule of fees. Fee - Altered Animal $6.25 3.25 Fee - Unaltered Animal $12.50 6.50 Any owner of any wild, exotic, dangerous or non-domestic animal shall obtain a license as outlined in Section 3-2.4 and shall pay an annual fee of thirty ($30.00) dollars for keeping or maintaining each animal. Every license shall expire on October 1st following the purchase of such license. Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this ordinance and shall cause same to be published as required by law.
