National Day of Remembrance
September 11, 2025
WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach and the residents of this great community join with fellow
Americans across the nation in honoring and remembering those who lost their lives in the horrific
terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001; and,
WHEREAS, we continue to offer support to the families and friends who lost loved ones in the
devastating events of that day, and especially our firefighters, police, and first responders who
continue to step forward and serve our communities with dedication and vigilance; and,
WHEREAS, we commend the firefighters, police, and first responders who courageously risked their
lives to rescue those in need, as well as the ordinary citizens and volunteers who selflessly gave their
lives to aid their friends and co-workers who were injured or trapped on that dreadful day; and,
WHEREAS, on this National Day of Remembrance, we pay tribute to and honor the memory of the
innocent victims and heroes who lost their lives, and we carry on the legacy of the selfless heroes
who served our Nation on September 111h and in its aftermath; and,
WHEREAS, today we remember the lives that were lost and honor the heroic actions taken by police,
fire and first responders, and the members of our armed forces; and,
WHEREAS, we honor the men and women of the Seal Beach Police Department for the sacrifices
they make daily in keeping our residents and community safe. Thank you for your continued support,
dedication, and selfless service!
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that the City Council of the City of Seal Beach do hereby
proclaim September 11, 2025, as "National Day of Remembrance" throughout the City of Seal Beach.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I hereby affix my signature and the seal of the City of Seal Beach this
eighth day of September in the year two thousand and twenty-five.
