SEAL BEACH RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION

The Seal Beach Recreation and Parks Commission met in regular session in the Council
Chambers on Tuesday, January 4, 1977. The meeting was called to order by Chairman
Harding at 7:35 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was given.
ROLL CALL
Present: Case, Harding, Parmelee, Payne
Absent: To rem
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of November 9, 1976 were approved as written.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
There were no oral communications.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
A letter from Mrs. Sherry Baum, member of the Orange
was read and discussed.

County Historical Commission,
OLD BUSINESS
The Wildlife Refuge was discussed and it was determined that a progress report should
be fO~/arded to the City Council, by the Secretary. to indicate the present status
of the Refuge. The Secretary also indicated that he would attempt to secure additional
copies of the Naval Weapons Station booklet on the Wildlife Refuge for the Commission.

NHJ BUSINESS
A. It was decided that a tour of facilities would be conducted on Sunday, Feb. 6,
for all commissioners. It was also decided that the next regular commission meeting
would be conducted on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 1977.
B. A report was made by the Secretary regarding the condition of the Beach Rocket
Slide. After discussion a motion was made by Case, second by Parmelee and unanimously
approved, recommending that the slide be removed.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved, seconded and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at 8:50 p.m.
