HomeMy WebLinkAboutPRC Min 1974-01-08 SEAL BEACH RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION ~ The Seal Beach Recreation and Parks Commission met in regular session on Tuesday. January 8. 197~. in the Council Chambers. City Administration Bldg. The meeting , was called to order by Chairman Harding at 7:30 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was given. ROLL CALL Present: Absent: Case. Har~ing. Payne. Parmelee. Torem None APPROVAL OF MINUTES " It was moved. seconded and unanimously approved to accept the minutes of December ~. 1973. as written. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS There were no oral communications. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS Letten from City Manager regarding the feasibility of utilization of a youth commissioner to serve in an ex-officio capacity to the Commission was discussed. . Torem moved. Case second. to send a memorandum to City Manager recommending that four ex-officio members be appointed to represent the College Park East. College Park West. Hill and Old Town areas. Each Commissioner from these respective areas would be responsible for appointing a youth representative from his:area with the approval of City Council. The four ex-officio members would select one member to represent them at Commission meetings. AYES: NOES: Case. Harding. Payne. Parmelee. Torem None Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS New Priorities Plan. Commission discussed the various projects slated for future park development and placed these projects in order of priority as per each facility. The Commission will at their next meeting place each of these projects on a prior- ity list with regard to total park development and send this recommendation to City Council for review. NEW BUSINESS P.E. Right-of-Way. Commission studied Planning Department Questionnaire on possible uses of the Right-of-Way and presented its recommendations to the Planning Commission for their review.
