SEAL BEACH RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION
. The Seal Beach Recreation and Parks Commission met in regular session on
Wednesday, April 28, 1993 in City Council Chambers. The meeting was called to
order by Chairman Thomas at 1:30 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was given.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of January 21, 1993 and March 24, 1993 were approved as written.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Kathleen Mc Glynn, Recreation Supervisor, distributed the Brochure, and
commented on a few new programs.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
OLD BUSINESS
A. North Seal Beach Center Renovations. Me Glynn reported that the
restrooms and storage area were scheduled to be completed in 30 days.
B. Marina Park Equipment. Mc Glynn reported that $30,000 in Quimby
Funds plus donations were being used to purchase the equipment.
C.
Beach Tot Lot Equipment. Mc Glynn reported that the Tot Lot was
scheduled to be dedicated Sunday, May 2, 1993.

D. Founders' Day. Commissioner Whyte discussed additions and deletions to
her original Founders' Day proposal. Whyte moved, Davies second, to
adopt the policy as agreed. It was approved.
Wh)"e moved, Davies second, to require that sll nominations for the
Founders' Day Committee be subject to the final approval of the
Recreation and Parks Commission, and that an attendance requirement be
established. It was approved.

and Shari Nemirow to serve on the Finance Committee. It was approved.

Davies moved, Whyte second, to &9.~aa~ Susan Davies to serve ae on the
secretary~o the Founders' Day Committee. It was approved.

NEW BUSINESS
A. Park Needs Assessment. Davies moved, Whyte second, to have Recreation
Staff prepare a list of park needs for Commission. It was approved.
ADJOURNMENT
It was moved, seconded, and approved to adjourn the meeting at 8:35 p.m.
