HomeMy WebLinkAboutPRC Min 1989-10-25 SEAL REACH RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION . The Seal Beach Recreation and Parks Commission met in regular session on Wednesday, October 25, 1989, in City Council Chambers. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was given. ROLL CALL Present: Absent: Petersen, Procter, Thomas, Weiler Reilly (arrived at 7:35 p.m.) APPROVAL OF MINUTES Thomas moved, Petersen second, to approve the minutes of April 26, 1989, August 30, 1989 and September 27, 1989 as written. Motion was unanimously approved. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS There were no oral communications. WRITTEN COMMUNIGATIONS A letter trom Sydney Ambrose was received and filed. Commissioner Weiler requested Jack Osteen submit a copy of the letter to the City Councilmembers. OLD BUSINESS Proposed Park - Mola Development Commissioners reviewed the new park concept submitted by Kirk Evans, Mola Development Corporation, which incorporated the list of amenities proposed by the Commission at their last meeting. Discussion followed. . Commissioners were concerned about the budget figures submitted by Mola. They requested a reconciliation of the original budget figures with the budget figures for the new park concept from Kirk Evans. He said he would reconcile and submit to Jack Osteen by Friday, October 27. After additional discussion, the Commissioners agreed to the following chsnges: Reduce the cost of Landscaping from $2/sq.ft. to $1.25/sq.ft. Delete the one, four-wall, 1/2 ceiling, Racquetball Court with lights. - Add lighting to the two Raaketball Courts Add two rows of five benches adjacent to the Bandstand Gazebo Commissioner Petersen suggested that AYSO may be willing to furnish soccer goal posts for the two fields. NEW RUSINESS There was no New Business. ADJOURNMENT At 6:)0 p.m. Commissioner Thomas moved, Petersen second, to adjourn until Wed., November 1, 1989, City Manager's Conference Room in City Hall, 7:30 p.m. .'.~~ ~c steen, ecretary
