SEAL BEACH RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION The Seal Beach Recreation and Parks Commission met in regular session on Wednesday, July 26, 1989, in City Council Chambers. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Weiler at 7:38 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was given. ROLL CALL Present: Absent: Petersen, Procter, Thomas, Weiler Reilly APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of April 26, 1989 were approved as written. ELECTION OF OFFICERS The election of new officers was conducted. Chairman; Commissioner Petersen was elected Commissioner Weiler was elected Vice Chairman. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS There were no oral communications. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS There were no written communications. OLD BUSINESS A. Mola Project. Kirk Evans gave a brief report on the proposed 15-acre park. ) Discussion followed and a Public Hearing was scheduled for August 30, 1989 to ~ discuss park design. . I NEW BUSINESS Summer Program. Osteen reported on the activities that took place during the summer months. The Commission commended the Department for an excellent program and thanked Osteen for his report. Marina Community Center. Osteen reported on grant funds that have been approved by the State for use in the refurbishing of Marina Community Center. Discussion followed. No Commission action was taken. 1989-90 Budget. Osteen reviewed the Recreation Department Budget as approved for 1989-90. Discussion followed. No Commission action was taken. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Procter moved, Petersen second to adjourn the meeting at 8:37 p.m. to Wednesday, August 30, 1989, 7:30 p.m. at which time a Public Hearing would be conducted to take input regarding the Mo1a Development parksite. d'/ ~~, ~k Osteen Secretary Recreation and Parks Commission
