SEAL BEACH RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION
-
The Seal Beach Recreation and Parks Commission met in regular session on
Wednesday, January 25, 1989, in City Council Chambers. The meeting was called
to order at 7:40 p.m. by Commissioner Thomas and the Pledge of Allegiance was
given.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of September 8, 1988 were approved as written.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
There were no oral communications.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
There were no written communications.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS
After some discussion, the Commissioin unanimously agreed to extend the terms
of Chairman Reilly and Vice-Chairman Weiler through July 1989.

OLD BUSINESS
Osteen reported on the progress of the Zoeter Field restoration program. No
Commission action was taken.
NEW BUSINESS
Osteen reported on proposed Edison Company improvements for Edison Park. More
details to be provided at next meeting. No Commission action was taken.
Osteen reported on success of Cancer Society 10K Run and the approximate $20,000
generated by the event. No Commission action was taken.
The topic of monthly meetings and lack of sufficient agenda items to justify
each monthly meeting was brought up. After discussion a motion was made by
Commissioner Procter, second by Commissioner Petersen, to change the Commission
meetings to a quarterly basis rather than a montly basis. The motion was
unanimously approved.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Petersen moved, second by Commissioner Procter, to adjourn the
meeting at ij:15 p.m.
