SEAL BEACH RECREATIO~ AND PARKS COMMISSION The Seal Beach Recreation and Parks Commission met in special session on Wednesday, April 29, 1987, in the Council Chambers, 211 Eighth Street, Seal Beach, CA. The meeting was called to order at 7:32 p.m. by Chairman Weiler and the Pledge of Allegiance was given. ROLL CALL Present: Absent: Procter, Reilly, Thomas, Weiler Petersen Also Present: Mr. ~d Knight, Director of Development Services The Notice of Special Meeting was provided for the record as follows: SEAL BEACH, CALIFORKIA April 24, 1987 Gar)" Petersen 4312 Fir Avenue Seal Beach. 90740 - Howard Procter 1080 Brookline Road, /l2l3-A Seal Beach, 90740 Marilyn Reilly 3431 - 13th Street Seal Beach, 90740 Gale Thomas 1400 Crestview Avenue Seal Beach, 90740 Greg Weiler 233 Stanford Lane Seal Beach, 90740 You and each of you will please take notice that Jack Osteen as Secretary of the Seal Beach Park and Recreation Commission, hereby calls and gives notice of a Special Meeting of the Seal Beach Park and Recreation Commission to be held and convened at the hour of 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 1987, in the Council Chambers, 211 Eighth Street, Seal Beach, CA, to transact the following business, and to take any measures or actions that may be deemed necessary relating to these matters. 1. To discuss the Preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Amendment of the Hellman Specific Plan. 2. To discuss the possible use of a portion of Department of Water and Power property for park purposes. . Dated this 24th day of April, 1987. ORAL COKKUNICATIONS See Business below. WRITTEN COKKUNlCATlONS See Business below. BUSINESS 1. Preparation of a Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Amendment of the Heliman Specific Plan - Background information on this item was presented by Mr. Knight, Director of Development Services. Discussion followed and input from the audience was taken. The Commission requested that they be kept informed on this issue and that they be invited to partici- pate in any and all future meetings which might affect parkland or in lieu fee dedication. No other Commission action was taken. 2. Possible use of a portion of Department of Water and Power property for park purposes - - Background information on this item was presented by Mr. Knight. Discussion followed and input from the audience was taken. The Commission requested more information on the possible or proposed uses of this property and the potential costs for development and maintenance. Chairman Weiler also requested that information be made available to the Commission on funds remaining in the Park and Recreation Fund. No other Commission action was taken.
