SEAL BEACH RECREATION AND PARKS COMMISSION
The Seal Beach Recreation and Parks Commission met in Regular Session on Tuesday.
October' 6, 1981 in the Council Chambers. The meeting was called to order by
{. Chairman Ehler at 7:30 p.m. and the Pledge of A11~giance was giyen.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved. seconded. and unanimously approved to accept the minutes of February 17.
1981 as written. ' ,
The minutes of September 8. 1981 could not be approved due to lack of a quorum of
Commissioners who were present at that meeting.

OLD BUSINESS
A. Armed Forces Reserve Center Proposed Park Plans. Commissioners acknowledged
receiving a copy of the proposed plans. No discussion was held. ,
B. Exxon Property Improvements. Chairman Ehler opened the discussion to members
of the audience. Christine Agur expressed the interest of some of the residents
of the trailer park in an open space area. with grass. trees. picnic area. and
shuffleboard ,and/or horseshoes. ..
Mr. Scheele. also from the trailer park. suggested a picnic area with shelter. water.
BBQ. tables and benches. He also mentioned the possibility of a handball/basketball
facility.
The necessity of lighting was also discussed. The Commissioners directed'Osteen to
proceed with a conceptual plan for their review. along with cost e~timates.
C. Softball Rosters - Adult Leagues. Chairman Ehler first asked "US teen for an up-to~
date report regarding the bleachers at Zoeter field. after which discussion was held
regarding department policies for the softball leagues.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Levine moved. Moerbeek second. to adjourn the meeting at 8:10 p.m. It
was unanimously approved.
