SEAL BEACH RECRE:.TION ftND PARKS COMMISSION
The Seal Beach Recreation and Parks COmmission met in special session on Monday,
lAarch 19, 1979 in the Council Cha::L.l-.ers. The meeting ~.'as called to order at
7=45 p.m. by Chairman Pa~ne.

COMMISSION ITEM
The Commission discussed the present conditions of both Zoeter and McGaugh'diamonds
with members of the local corrrnunity and with staff. Also discussed were methods ,_
of improving the maintenance of ti':ese facilities. As a result of the discussion,':
the Recreation and Parks Commission ;:ade the following recClll1!ll!ndations to City . .
Counc 11 :
1. That the City use available sa 174 funds for the improvement 'of field
facilities at McGaugh School for recreational use including baseball and
slo-pitch with a concurrent long term use agreement for the above fa.cilities
at McGaugh School.
2. That Park and Recreation Fund fees be used for improvement of field
facilities at Zoeter Schoo~ for similar purposes as in number one (1).
3. That the City seek a lcng term lease or purchase agreeClent for avai lahl~
open space at Zoeter School for present ann future recreational use
by the residents of Seal Beach.
4. The invoking of the ter:=s of the present agreement between the City of
Seal Beach and the Seal 3each School District for the upkeep and maintcn~nce
of the fields as provided for in the present agreement. .
5. The providing of adequate continued maintenance of these facilities (.nce
the above improvements are instituted.
