SEAL BEACH PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
The Seal Beach Park and Recreation Commission met in regular session on Tuesday,
September 5, 1972, in the Council Chambers, City Administration Building. The
meeting was cal~ed to order by Chairman Torem at 7:40 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance
was given.

Absent: None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of August 8, 1972 were approved as corrected.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Sanada informed the Commission of his phone eonverstaion with Mr. Bob Wenger, 1205
Crestview, requesting that Gum Grove Park be posted "OPEN DAWN TO DUSK" and that an
ordinance be established to protect the homeowners along Crestview. Torem suggested
that Osteen check the terms of the lease and if the lease was not specific the
Commissioners would recommend an ordinance to City Council.
Election of Officers: Torem was unanimously re-elected Chairman and Harding Vice-
Chairman.
WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS
There were no written communications.
OLD BUSINESS

1. Renaming of Shapell Park. Torem suggested William 11iller Memorial Park. Harding
suggested Almond Park or Almond Oleander Park. Further discussion was tabled until
next meeting.
2. First Street Beach Development. Discussion was tabled until Park Tour.
3. Park Tour. Sunday, September 17, at 8:00 a.m.
4. Gum Grove Dedication. Saturday, October 7, at 2:00 p.m.
NEW BUSINESS
There was no new business.

Payne moved, Case second, to adjourn the meeting at 9 :25 p.m. It was unanimously
approved.
