The meeting was called to order by Chairman Torem at 7:45 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was given. ROLL CALL Present: Dreyer, Herrera, Iseda, Kredell, Torem Absent: None APPROVAL OF NINUTES Herrera moved, Krcdell second to approve the minutes of November 2, 1971 as 11ritten. AYES: Dreyer, Herrera, Iseda, Kredell, Torem NOES: None f'lotion carried. ORAL CmNUNICATIONS Osteen reported on the Invitational Boys' All-Star Flag Football Tournament held in Huntington Beach on Novemher 26, 27. ~iO teams from the Seal Ceac~ Recreation League 11ere entered: one team fror.l the third and fourth grade division and one from the fifth and sixth grade division. Both teams displayed fine sportsmanship and ability and were a credit to the City. The fifth and sixth Rrade team took second place in the tournament. Osteen also indicated that the chanpionship teams from our tNO leagues have been , invited to participate in the Orange County t~nicipal Athletic Association Tourna- ment which begins on December 10. The OCNM Tourney di ffers from the Huntington Beach Tourney in that it is for championship teams and not for all-stars. WRITTEN Cot.r.,IUNICATIONS Osteen read the letter fror.1 ~Ir. Gene Foley stating that on Saturday, December 4, a group of more than a dozen people i ni tiated the clean-up program in Gum Grove Park. . . . Torem suggested that a letter of thanks be sent from the Commission. Osteen read a letter from the Director of Recreation, Santa Fe Springs, requesting his presence on December 21 for a meeting regarding bicycle paths. OLD BUSINESS 1. Iseda reported on his study of the Orange County Bicycle Trails System. It loJas suggested that Osteen check with the Highway Department regarding how nel~ San Diego Freeway on-ramp at Seal Beach Blvd. would affect a possible bicycle trail along Seal Beach Blvd. Osteen was also directed to check into possible funds for development of total trails system in the City of Seal Beach. Torem suggested that the Commission submit a plan of bicycle pathways for the City of Seal Beach to the City Council. 2. Dreyer reported that the Senior Citizen. Film loJill be shown at the Long Beach Jewish Center on Thursday, December 16, at II a.m. and all the Commissioners loJere invited to attend. 3. Osteen reported on the Edison Park Development. Discussion folloloJed. NEW BUSINESS Torem requested the Commissioners be given a listing of current recreation programs.
