SEAL BEACH PARK AND RECREATION COHMISSION The Seal Beach Park and Recreation Commission met in special session on Tuesday, January 12, 1971, in the office of the City Manager at 6:30 P.M. The purpose of the meeting Nas to informally discuss with the City Manager the status of the three proposed park sites, Gum Grove, First Street Beach, and Bluebell. After discussing each area, Torem moved, second by Iseda, to declare this an official Park and Recreation Commission meeting. AYES: Dreyer, Herrera, Iseda, Torem NOES: None (Kredell was not present.) ~lotion carried. Torem moved, second by Iseda, to direct a Nritten communication to the City Council, to he placed on the next agenda recommending: 1. That an additional clause be placed in the lease agreement currently being negotiated between the City of Seal Beach and . the attorneys for the Hellman Estate; said clause to give the City of Sea.l Beach first .r.efiisal', ri,ghts"to: the 10.5+ acre site immediately North of the Marina Hill section of the City should said lease expire or when property is offered for sale. 2. That efforts be made to reopen the temporarily closed negoti- ations for acquisition of lots number 116 through 125, inclusive, Tract 6177, College Park East, in accordance with Resolution Number 1867. It is understood that the proposed water rights means of acquisition is under scrutiny of audit. This Commission is extremely concerned Nith the rapidly diminishing open space in this area, and feels that time is of the essence. and that said communication request the City Council provide the Park and . Recreation Commission with an up-to-date status report on the progress of this acquisition. AYES: Dreyer, Herrera, Iseda, Torem NOES: None ~lotion carried. . . . Commissioners requested their names be placed on the mailing list for City Council agendas and minutes. Torem moved" second by Herrera, to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 P.M.
