SEAL BEACH PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
.
The Seal Beach Park and Recreation Commission met in regular session on Tuesday,
January 5, 1971, in the Council Chambers, City Administration Building. The
meeting was called to order at 7:45 P.M. by Chairman Dreyer. The Pledge of
Allegiance was given by all present.
ROLL CALL
Present: Commissione~s Dreyer, Herrera, Iseda, Torem
Ahsent: Commissioner Kredell
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Torem moved, second by Herrera, to approve the minutes of December 3, 1970 as
written.
AYES: Dreyer, Herrera, Iseda, Torem
NOES: None

. ORAL C0I1!olUNICA'l'IONS
Mr. Held of Leisure lqorld proposed the possible organization of a symphony program
in Seal Beach and volunteered his assistance.
Torem moved, second by Iseda, to have Chairman Dreyer and Mr. Held secure further
information regarding the facilities and possible expenditures necessary for such
a program.

~mITTEN CO~~mNICATIONS
Osteen explained the teen center project proposed hy Mrs. Connie Raines, Mrs. Betty
Weaver and Mrs. Twyla Karkut in their letter of November 30, 1970.
Torem requested that a representative of this group attend the next Park and
~ Recreation Commission meeting in order to give the Commission more detailed infor-
mati on for study.

OLD BUSINESS
Osteen explained the 1970-71 Fiscal Year Recreation Budget.
The letter from the Ci ty ~Ianager regarding the status of the proposed parks was
discussed. It was determined that more information was necessary.
The Commission decided to call a special meeting on January 12, 1971 with the
City ~lanager at 6:30 P.~I. in his office.
The revised plans of the proposed First Street Beach recreational development
were explained by Osteen. Discussion followed.
NEW BUSINESS
There was no new business.
Chairman Dreyer expressed his appreciation to the Recreation Department for making

the necessary arrangements for his headset which will assist him in conducting
future meetings, Nith improved hearing.
ADJOURNMENT
Torem moved, second by Iseda, to adjourn the meeting at 9:00 P.M.
