HomeMy WebLinkAboutSBCCF Min 2004-11-15 / . . . ~ SEAL BEACH CABLE COMMUNICATIONS FOUNDATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES FOR NOVEBER 15,2004 The Board of Directors for the Seal Beach Cable Communications Foundation met on November 15, 2004 at the Seal Beach Studio in Seal Beach, California. Board President, Dick Davies called the meeting to order at 7:20pm. PLEDGE QF ALLEGJANQ The pledge ofaDegiance was led by Mr. Davies. ROIJ.CALL Mr. Davies, Ms. Martin, and Ms. WaIz were present. Mr. Peter Anninos and Ms. Lee were absent and excused. Robin Fort-Lincke, the PEG Station Manager was present. Mr. Russ Bauman, the Chief Engineer was also present. AP~R9V At QF .THE AGE-MM Motion was made by Ms. WaIz to approve the agenda as amended (by adding Roll CaD to the agenda) and it was seconded by Ms. Martin. AYES: Mr. Davies, Ms. Martin, Ms. Walz NAYES: -0- MOTION PASSED: 3-0 c.;ON~JNT CALENDAR MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 20, 2004 BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING Ms. Martin made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 20, 2004 Board of Directors Meeting with type-<> corrections and switcher issue included. Ms. WaIz seconded the motion. AYES: Ms. Martin, Ms. Walz, Mr. Davies NAYES: -0- MOTION PASSED: 3-0 CHt;(;K REQQJ1;~t Ms. Martin made a motion to accept and pay the items listed on the check request with the phone bill to be approximately $300. FINANCIAL STATEMENT Ms. Martin made a motion to receive and file the financial statement prepared by Ms. Fort- Lincke. The motion was seconded by Ms. WaIz. AYES: Ms. Martin, Mr. Davies, Ms. Walz NAYES: .0- MOTION PASSED: 3-0 0:tJ} BUSINE,SS EQUIPMENT REPAIR Ms. Fort-Lincke asked Mr. Davies if the preview monitor in the L W editing bay was in need of repair. He stated that once the monitor warmed up, it was okay. FUNDING FOR PROGRAMS Ms. Fort-Lineke stated that the next scheduled shoot would be the first Friday in December for the Holiday parade. . 4JID.IENCJ COMMUNlC.t\TJON There was no audience communication. ~POR1~ PEG STATION MANAGERlEXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT Ms. Fort-Lincke stated that SBTV-3 had received a NATOA award of honorable mention in the category ofOovernment fi1cilities of a budget under $100,000. She said she was working on an article and photo about it to submit to the Sun Newspaper. She also stated that SBTV-3 had 4 WAVE award finalists, one of which was a winner. Studio Caf6 won the "LIVE TO TAPE category, and the 3 other finalists included Just Another Religious Program, Inside Leisure World - Kate Pedigo and Studio Cafi5 - Halloween Show. CHIEF ENGINEER REPORT Mr. Bauman explained that he replaced the broken switcher with a temporary switcher and he explained how it's function would be different in use now. Ms. Fort-Lincke stated that she had received the insurance information to add the truck to the Driver AIliant policies when it expired this year as the board had discussed previously in October of2003. Ms. Walz announced that she had been a guest on a program that was shot at the Long Beach public access fi1cility and that someone would be contacting Ms. Fort-Lineke with a copy to air on SBTV-3. Ms. Martin asked if ail the board members had contacted their city council representatives to advise them that if the public needed to know who to file complaints about the cable company with, that they should be files with the city manager's office. All board members stated that they had contacted their representatives, including Ms. Lee, who advised Ms. Fort-Lincke via emai1 that she had also contacted her representative. . ADJO~NJ' Motion was made by Ms. Martin, seconded by Mr. Anninos to adjourn the meeting at 8:10.
