Pink Patch –2013 The Beginnings
Created by Sgt. Steve Bowles with Chief’s support
Inspired by sports teams wearing pink for awareness
Officers wore pink patches during October
Patches sold to public for cancer research
Over 970 agencies joined nationwide
Funds go to local cancer support and prevention groups
Raising Funds for Cancer Support
Partnership with Law Enforcement Cancer Support
Foundation (LECSF)
Provides emotional support and cancer education for
law enforcement
~$10,000 raised from Seal Beach patch sales
Early Expansion 2014 -2016
2014: El Centro PD & Guadalupe PD
first to join after CPCA article
2015: Irwindale PD raised $20K for City
of Hope
2016: Irwindale Chief Anthony
Miranda introduced project
to LA Police Chiefs Assoc. -

Beach Police command staff, I have
represented the City of Seal Beach
and the Seal Beach Police Department
in Pink Patch Project events.
My goal is to making sure that no
forgets that Seal Beach is where it all
began!

does great things!
