Subject:Hellman Solar PV Electrical System Project
Dear Mr. Temple
I'm a Long Beach resident and local community organizer who strongly opposes the building of the Hellman Solar PV Project so close
to the Los Cerritos Wetlands without an Environmental Impact Report. Our wetlands are an essential piece to our local ecology as
well as a fragile ecosystem - any harm to the wetlands will have reverberations.
I support renewable energy, but absolutely not at the cost of the wetlands and I know I'm not alone in this sentiment. Many community
members are also concerned with the long-term effects of having the solar panel project adjacent to the wetlands, especial ly as the area
is experiencing ongoing restoration efforts.
As a community, we urge you and the City to require a full Environmental Impact Report in order to accurately gauge the solar
project's effects on the area. We appreciate your consideration.
