RECOGNIZING ROBERT HOWSON OWNER, OF THE RETAIL HARBOUR
SURFBOARDS SHOP AT 329 MAIN STREET
WHEREAS, Harbour Surfboards, located at 329 Main Street in Seal Beach since 1962,
stands as one of the longest -operating surf shops in its original location and a cornerstone
of the community's surfing history; and,
WHEREAS, Robert Howson, as owner of the retail operations, has played a vital role in
preserving and evolving Harbour Surfboards, transitioning it into a thriving destination while
honoring its foundational legacy established by Rich Harbour; and,
WHEREAS, under Robert Howson's stewardship, the shop continues to serve surfers
worldwide, maintaining the tradition of quality craftsmanship and community spirit that has
defined Harbour Surfboards for over six decades; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach recognizes Robert Howson's dedication to sustaining
this iconic local institution and its contributions to Seal Beach's identity as a surfing hub.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, the City Council of the City of Seal Beach
does hereby recognize Robert Howson, owner of the retail Harbour Surfboards shop at 329
Main Street, for his achievements in carrying forward this cherished legacy.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of
