•Long Beach is hosting the second most events outside of LA
•Long Beach is confirmed to host 18 events in 7 different sites
•Olympic games are July 14-30, 2028
•Paralympic games are August 15-27, 2028
•Anticipated 10 –15 million ticketed fans

Recommendation
•Establish the Olympic Advisory Ad-hoc Committee
•Consisting of 2 council members and 5 community members
•Authorize the City Manager to provide staff support
•Direct the City to begin advertising vacancies
Next Steps
•Begin Adverting for committee members
•Interested committee members must submit interest to the City
Clerks office by February 20, 2026
•Council will consider board members in early Spring
•Committee will begin holding meetings
