A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEAL BEACH ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $47,897.33 FROM THE ORANGE
COUNTY COASTKEEPER AND THE CALIFORNIA
COASTAL CONSERVANCY AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER, OR THEIR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE
THE GRANT AGREEMENT AND RELATED
DOCUMENTS; AND APPROVING BUDGET
AMENDMENT #26-08-02 IN THE AMOUNT OF
$47,897.33
WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach is committed to enhancing public
access to its beaches and recreational resources for all members of the
community, including individuals with mobility limitations; and,
WHEREAS, the Marine Safety Department applied for and was awarded grant
funding from the Orange County Coastkeeper and the California Coastal
Conservancy to improve beach accessibility; and,
WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to purchase and install beach access
mats at the First Street beach area and to acquire a powered track beach
wheelchair to improve independent access for beachgoers with disabilities; and,
WHEREAS, the total amount of the grant award is $47,897.33, and the project is
expected to be completed within the awarded amount with no additional City
funds required; and,
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has reviewed and approved the grant agreement
and this resolution as to form; and,
WHEREAS, acceptance of the grant funds and execution of the grant agreement
will support the City of Seal Beach's efforts to improve accessibility and enhance
public use of coastal resources.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Seal Beach City Council does resolve, declare,
determine, and order as follows:
Section 1. The City Council hereby accepts grant funds in the amount of
$47,897.33 from the Orange County Coastkeeper and the
California Coastal Conservancy.
Section 2. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager, or Their
designee, to execute the grant agreement and any amendments
thereto, as well as all related documents, and to take all actions
necessary to secure the grant funds and implement the approved
grant.
Section 3. The City Council hereby approves Budget Amendment BA #26-08-
02 in the amount of$47,897.33.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Seal Beach City Council at a
regular meeting held on the 23rd day of February 2026 by the following vote:
