The revised, slightly downsized project still requires a comprehensive environmental review before it advances through the Seal Beach planning process. My concern is for the sensitive ecosystem of the wetlands being negatively impacted by the solar panels. I am definitely a proponent of clean energy like solar, but I'm asking for a review to evaluate the potential harm this spot would have, and to search for alternative locations not adjacent to the wetlands. As a resident of Long Beach and a lover of the Los Cerritos wetlands and its creatures, I hope the commission will run a full review. Los Cerritos Wetlands is a rare coastal wetland, home to many sensitive species, especially birds. Unless the City requires a full environmental review (EIR), neither the public nor decision-makers will have access to a comprehensive analysis of the project’s impacts or potential alternatives; that information is provided only through an EIR. Thank you for your time. Regards, Jennifer Celio JenniferCelio.Weebly.com
