A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL
BEACH APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF
MARINE SAFETY UNIFORMS FOR BEACH LIFEGUARDS, POOL
LIFEGUARDS, AND JUNIOR LIFEGUARDS
WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach provides Marine Safety services, including
Beach Lifeguards, Pool Lifeguards, and Junior Lifeguards; and,
WHEREAS, uniforms are required to ensure staff are properly identified, protected
from environmental conditions, and maintain a professional appearance; and,
WHEREAS, the City previously entered into a three-year agreement with
Quiksilver in 2023 for the provision of uniforms; and,
WHEREAS, upon expiration of that agreement, staff solicited quotes from qualified
vendors; and,
WHEREAS, Quiksilver submitted the lowest responsive bid and meets the City's
requirements for quality and cost-effectiveness; and,
WHEREAS, the total cost for the purchase of uniforms is $37,463.00, which is
included in the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 adopted budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Seal Beach City Council does resolve, declare,
determine and order as follows:
Section 1. The City Council hereby approves the purchase of Marine Safety
uniforms for Beach Lifeguards, Pool Lifeguards, and Junior
Lifeguards in the amount of$37,463.00.
Section 2. The City Council finds that, due to the circumstances applicable to
this purchase, the net cost to the City will be reduced by dispensing
with formal bidding; and,
Section 3. The City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager, or
designee, to approve a purchase order and execute any necessary
related documents to complete the purchase.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this
Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Seal Beach City Council at a
regular meeting held on the 11th day of May 2026 by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Kalmick, Wong, Seneca!, Steele, Landau
