A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH CITY COUNCIL
APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
YUNEX, LLC FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL MAINTENANCE SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City owns and maintains twenty-three (23) traffic signals and four
(4) flashing beacons; and,
WHEREAS, maintenance associated with these traffic signals would include
routine inspection of traffic signal and operations equipment, emergency and non-
emergency repairs, new equipment and software upgrades; and,
WHEREAS, the City has exercised the maximum term extension contract option
with the City's existing Traffic Signal Maintenance Contractor, Yunex, LLC
(Yunex); and,
WHEREAS, on March 11, the City issued a Request for Proposals to solicit for
Traffic Signal Maintenance Services; and,
WHEREAS, on March 25, the City received three (3) proposals; and,
WHEREAS, the evaluation panel comprised of Public Works staff who rated the
proposals based on their overall qualifications, relevant firm experience,
availability, familiarity with the City's policies, understanding and approach, fee and
cost proposals, amongst other factors; and,
WHEREAS, based on the aforementioned factors, Yunex was deemed the most
qualified contractor to execute the scope.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Seal Beach City Council does resolve, declare,
determine and order as follows:
Section 1. The City Council hereby awards a Professional Services Agreement
(Agreement) to Yunex, LLC for Traffic Signal Maintenance Services
in a not-to-exceed amount of$500,000 for a three (3) year term.
Section 2. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the
Agreement.
Section 3. The City Council hereby approves the City Manager, or his designee,
to extend the Agreement with Yunex, LLC for up to two (2) additional
one-year terms, at his discretion, in a not-to-exceed amount of
$166,667 for each one-year term extension.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Seal Beach City Council at a
regular meeting held on the 11th day of May 2026 by the following vote:
AYES: Council Members Kalmick, Wonq, Senecal, Steele, Landau
NOES: Council Members
ABSENT: Council Members
