Public Comment -- Item E, Ordinance 1726 (Second Reading and Adoption)
Submitted by: Timothy Kirkconnell, District 4 Resident
Greetings Mayor Landau and Council Members.
My name is Timothy Kirkconnell, and I am a resident of District 4. I am writing in support of Ordinance
1726.
The residential parking permit program framework included in this ordinance addresses a
straightforward need: preserving street access for residents while creating a structured, enforceable
system for managing parking in high-demand areas. This kind of street-use designation keeps
neighborhoods functional and generates modest permit fee revenue that can offset program
administration costs. The daylighting provisions near crosswalks are a welcome safety addition as well.
I appreciate the Council's attention to the day-to-day quality-of-life details that shape how residents
experience their neighborhoods. I look forward to seeing this ordinance implemented thoughtfully.
Thank you for your service to our community.
