Bilingual Proficiency Testing is currently available in the following 16 languages:Arabic,Armenian (Eastern/Western), Cantonese, Farsi, French,German, Hindi, Italian,Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Russian,Spanish,Tagalog,Vietnamese,and Sign Language. The evaluation for sign language proficiency is provided at$204.00 for each candidate tested. The Sign Language Interpreter test measures technical sign language proficiency but does NOT meet the requirements for State recommended certification for Sign Language Interpreters. Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) retains sole ownership of all Bilingual Proficiency test content and may allow its use or administer it in other organizations. City of Seal Beach accepts and agrees to the following conditions of use. City of Seal Beach (Name of Organization) (Name of Organization) will: • Designate one staff member to serve as a primary coordinator.All business needs should be coordinated through this individual. If the primary coordinator changes, The City of Seal Beach will notify LAUSD of the new coordinator. (Name of Organization) • Be responsible for providing test results to candidates. • Be responsible for its own claims of validity for its use of the test. (LAUSD documentation is relevant but may not be sufficient evidence of validity.) Any additional LAUSD staff hours required to support litigation arising from test use will be billed to City of Seal Beach at the then prevailing hourly rate. (Name of Organization) • Pay all bills within 60 days upon receipt. • Maintain all test-related materials secure and confidential at all times (if test materials have been provided by LAUSD for the purpose of administering a bilingual assessment to one of your employees or candidates at your own site). This would include: - keeping all hard-copy test materials under lock and key. -ensuring all electronic copies of test materials remain confidential. - having tests administered by the primary coordinator or supervisor of the test taker. - having all materials remain in the primary coordinator's or supervisor's possession at all times. - making only the necessary hard-copies needed for test administration. If there is a breach in confidentiality or test materials are lost, a fee of no more than$5,000 may be imposed. • Notify Isabel Herrera, LAUSD Contact Person, if any breach of security occurs. I understand the rights to all test materials are reserved and no test material may be reproduced in any form or by any means, without the expressed written consent of the Los Angeles Unified School District's Personnel Commission. Secondly, LAUSD is self-insured for Workers' Compensation. LAUSD is registered with the California Department of Insurance as a Certified Self-Insured Employer for Workers' Compensation. The LAUSD Certificate Number is 7512. Thirdly, LAUSD's Property Self-Insured Retention (SIR) is $25,000,000 per Loss. We cannot provide Additional Insured or Loss Payee Endorsements, as there are no policies to endorse. All coverage periods run from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
