Section 2-9i~s hereby added to the Code of the City of Seal Beach and shall read as follows: "Section 2-9~~lant and Equipment Replacement Fund. There is hereby established a Plant and Equipment Replacement Fund to which fund is appropriated the sum of $700,000 from the unencumbered money of the General Fund of the City of Seal Beach. Purpose of the Plant and Equipment Replacement Fund is to accumulate sufficient monies to pay for the replacement of City buildings, machinery and other equipment relating to those buildings. The City Council shall annually consider additional appropriations to the foregoing fund in accordance with generally accepted methods of determining depreciation on buildings, machinery and other equipment. Until expended, all monies in this Fund shall be invested to earn interest which shall be credited to the General Fund. The City Manager is authorized to direct transfers from this Fund to other City funds during the fiscal year as the need arises, so long as all such monies transferred shall be returned to this Fund by June 30th of the fiscal year." 1 Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published as required by law.
