A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING FEES FOR
THE COMMUNITY SWIMMING POOL AND FOR THE CITY'S
AQUATIC RECREATION AND INSTRUCTION PROGRAM. AND
REPEALING RESOLUTION NUMBER 2791.
The City Council of the City of Seal Beach does hereby resolve as
follows:
Section 1. Community Swimming Pool - Summer Schedule
a) Recreation Swimming
Monday through Friday
Saturday
Thursday - Family Night
12:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Admission Fees for Recreational Swimming:
Children 17 years of age and under 50t per session
Adults 18 years of age and over 75t per session
Family Night: Regular fees for recreation swimming
with maximum of $2.00 per family
b) Swimming Instruction
1) Classes of 45 minutes duration.
2) Instruction fees for residents of city - $10.00
3) Instruction fees for non-residents of city - $12.50
c) Competitive Swimming Instruction
For qualified members of the Seal Beach Swimming Team..
50t per day per member, shall entitle the member, total
pool scheduling permitting, to participate in the scheduled
competitive swimming class daily, Monday through Friday,
each session to be approximately l~ hours each. Any other
qualified person attending said competitive swimming class
shall pay daily the fee for swimming instruction set forth
in Section l(a).
Section 2. Community Swimming Pool - Winter Schedule
a) Recreation Swimming
The pool shall be open during school spring vacation and
on Saturdays and holidays for a reasonable period before
and after the summer session for recreation swimming, weather
permitting, with admission fees the same as those established
for the summer session.
b) Competitive Swimming Instruction
See Summer Schedule above.
Section 3. Community Swimming Pool - Other Activities
a) Rental to Groups
One lifeguard required for groups of 15 participants or
less, $10.00 per hour with minimum of three hours,
Group of 16 to 60 participants, $15.00 per hour with minimum
of three hours, and an additional $5.00 per hour for each
increment of 35 participants.

b) Swimming Meets
No entry fee will normally be made for swimming meets
approved by the City Manager when the City does not
provide awards. An entry fee may be made for meets at
which City provides awards.
Section 4. Community Swimming Pool - Use of Facilities by Commercial
Users.
Should the pool become available for rental by commercial
users providing instruction in SCUBA diving or similar
instructions the city shall receive an amount equal to
twenty percent (20%) of the gross receipts of said user,
providin~ that in no case shall the fee be less than thirty
dollars ($30.00) per hour with a minimum of sixty dollars
($60.00).
Section 5. Family Swim Pass (for residents and those who work in
Seal Beach) twenty five dollars ($25.00).
A resident Family Swim Pass entitles the members of an
immediate family (no guests) the use of the McGaugh Pool
during all recreation swim hours, from June 1 of the current
year through May 31 of the following year. The pass may not
be used for swim lessons or during swim team workouts.
Section 6. Authority of City Manager
The City Council directs and authorizes the City Manager
to modify the time schedules of events and programs, within
budgetary limits, as may be necessitated by needs which may
arise from time to time, provided that such changes in time
schedules shall not change the fees and charges established
herein.
Section 7. Resolution Number 2791 is hereby repealed.
