HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 2825 No Action I RESOLUTION NUMBER ;z!32 ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH SUPPORTING THE MITIGATION MEASURES PROPOSED TO BE INSTALLED AT THE LOS ALAMITOS GENERATING PLANT AS A TRADE OFF FOR THE SOHIO PROJECT. I WHEREAS, the Standard Oil Company of Ohio is seeking to establish an installation in the harbor of Long Beach for the purpose of receiving and temporarily storing oil, later to be transported to points east and local areas; and WHEREAS, the Environmental Quality Control Board of the City of Seal Beach has reviewed the environmental effect of such activities solely upon the City of Seal Beach as defined by the Environmental Impact Report for the SOHIO Project; and WHEREAS, the SOHIO Environmental Impact Report identifies Leisure World as a population at risk due to pollution increases and has indicated this population will also receive the greatest benefit from the proposed mitigation measures at the Los Alamitos Generating Plant; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Seal Beach City Council supports the mitigation measures as proposed to be installed at the Los Alamitos Generating Plant as a benefit to the City of Seal Beach.
