HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 2927 1979-11-12 I I I ,- . , " . - RESOLUTION NUMBER ;2 7 .2"7 I A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING WATER SERVICE RATES AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 2855. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: WHEREAS, Section 26-8 of the Code of the City of Seal Beach does provide that minimum monthly rates for water service, a specified quantity of water to be furnished with the minimum monthly rate, and additional charge for water used in excess of said specified quantity of water be established and fixed by resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following water service rates are hereby established and fixed as follows: 1, Where water is furnished through a meter, the monthly minimum rate to be charged for each meter installed shall be Three Dollars and Fifty Cents ($3.50). 2. The monthly minimum rate to be charged for water furnished through meters shall be for the use of the first seven hundred cubic feet (700 c.f.). or part thereof. of water furnished through such meter. 3. All water furnished through each meter in excess of the first seven hundred cubic feet (700 c.f.) shall have an additional charge of fifty cents ($0.50)'for each additional one hundred cubic feet (100 c.f.) or part thereof, for the next one million cubic feet (1,000.000 c.f.) and forty-five cents ($0.45) for each additional one hundred cubi c feet (100 c.f,) above the fi rst one mi 11 i on seven hundred cubic feet (1,000.700 c.f.). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution N ber 2855 is hereby rescinded. and that the aforementioned water rate~ d quantities set forth shall become effective on the /.Jt day of . 1980; and . '" BE IT FURTIlER RESOLVED that future water service rates shall be established in the following manner: 1. By October 1, 1980. and each succeeding year. the City Manager shall have prepared a Water Utility Financial Report that shall be an accounting of the revenues and expenditures for the past fiscal year ending June 30th. Based upon the Water Utility Financial Report, the City Manager shall establish water service rates that will provide sufficient funds for annual capital improvements and maintenance of the water system. The water service rates shall provide water revenues in an amount which will exceed total expenditures for the last fiscal year by twenty percent (20%) of total expenditures. Total expenditures shall include, but not be limited to. ooerational and administrative expense, capital outlay, bond debt service, and loan repayments. . I I I " . . By October 15. 1980. and each succeeding year, the City Manager shall submit the Water Utility Financial Report and proposed water service rates to the City Council for their review and approval. 3. By December 1, 1980, and each succeeding year, the City Manager shall notify the public of the new water service rates. 4. On January 1, 1981. and each succeeding year, the new water service rates shall become effective.
